Plagiarism & Artificial Intelligence Policy
Our standards for originality, integrity, and the responsible use of AI tools in scholarly manuscripts submitted to Lumina Literati Publishing (LLP).
Policy on Plagiarism
Zero ToleranceZero tolerance for plagiarism. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized content are rejected immediately. Where plagiarism is confirmed, authors may be banned from submitting further manuscripts to LLP.
What Constitutes Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the use of another person’s words, ideas, data, or work without proper acknowledgement. This includes copying text directly, paraphrasing without attribution, and presenting someone else’s study or findings as your own.
How We Detect It
LLP screens every submission with machine-learning algorithms and dedicated plagiarism-detection software. These tools identify the full range of plagiarism, including verbatim copying, inadequate paraphrasing, and the undisclosed recycling of previously published work.
The Process of Dealing with Plagiarism
Three Stages-
Initial Review
All submissions pass through plagiarism-detection software to identify possible instances of unoriginal or unattributed content before editorial evaluation begins.
-
Editors’ Assessment
A team of editors conducts an extensive review to determine whether copyright infringement or plagiarism has occurred. Authors may be asked to provide clarification or additional supporting materials at this stage.
-
Final Decision
Once plagiarized content is confirmed, the article is removed. Authors are notified of the decision and receive a comprehensive report documenting the editors’ findings.
Manuscript Creation Using Artificial Intelligence
Disclosure RequiredAppropriate Uses
LLP recognizes the increasing role of artificial intelligence in research and writing. AI-assisted manuscripts may be accepted only if they meet all publication requirements — originality, novelty, and scholarly quality.
Mandatory Declaration
Authors must disclose the use of AI tools in manuscript preparation. The declaration must name the specific AI tools used and state how much each tool contributed to the completed manuscript.
Score on AI Usage
Quality & OriginalityQuality and Originality Standards
Manuscripts with AI input are rated on scientific soundness, clarity, and creativity. The use of AI does not lower the bar: these manuscripts must maintain the same quality and novelty expected of any LLP publication.
Assessment Methods
LLP employs first-rate machine-learning models to evaluate AI-generated content. The goal is to determine the extent of AI involvement in a manuscript while ensuring the work adheres to established ethical standards.
Ethical Considerations
Transparency First- Openness. Be transparent about the use of AI tools. Authors must ensure AI-assisted content is original and properly acknowledged.
- Editorial control. Manuscripts containing AI-generated content undergo extensive human review to verify accuracy, logical consistency, and conformity with accepted academic standards. For these manuscripts specifically, editors and reviewers assess whether the content is original and of good quality.
Detection of AI-Generated Manipulation
Advanced ScreeningAdvanced Measures
LLP uses modern machine-learning models to identify the manipulation or fabrication of data by AI programs — detecting patterns that suggest AI involvement in the generation, amendment, or fabrication of case studies and research data.
Human Confirmation
Where AI manipulation is suspected, specialists may be asked to review the case and provide an expert opinion on the validity of the research findings and the integrity of the collected data.
Criteria for Scholarly Publishing
High StandardsHigh Standards for Every Paper
Every submission — with or without AI assistance — must meet LLP’s high publishing standards: it must contribute significant knowledge to its field, be methodologically sound, and observe ethical norms in the conduct of research.
Peer Review Process
Manuscripts are subjected to double-blind peer review so that no prejudice or partiality affects the outcome. Reviewers examine the scientific merit of the work and the ethical dimensions of the study protocols applied.
Authorship Responsibilities
Author Duties- Adherence. Authors must ensure every submission complies with LLP’s plagiarism and AI policies — including truthful disclosure of AI use and ethical conduct throughout the research process.
- Corrections. Authors who uncover errors in their manuscripts must correct them as quickly as possible. This includes issues of plagiarism, undisclosed AI use, or data integrity.
Questions about this policy? If you are unsure whether your use of AI tools or source material complies, disclose it in your submission — the editorial team will assess it during review.
Through compliance with these policies, Lumina Literati Publishing guarantees the publication of authentic, quality research while accommodating the innovative application of AI in scholarship.
